Do you have great news that you can't share?

Have you ever had great news that you felt you couldn’t share with people close to you because it would be a sore subject for them and would be like rubbing your good fortune in their face when they are down and out?
Did you share it anyway, or just jump for joy by yourself wishing you could share the news with someone? Is it wrong to keep it to yourself because your friend would be hurt if you didn’t share, or are you being a good friend in not sharing at this time?
