Im having trouble with a new windows 7 computer?

i need some computer genius help here… new computer, windows 7 (blah) and when you click on something that has a new window, nothing happens- lame example- checking email and i got a message from fb and i click the link to reply and nothing happens. or for trying to download itunes, nothing happens. ive turned off all pop up blockers and changed security settings, but nothings working… it seems that anytime a new window has to come up, it doesnt work. any ideas?
