15 of 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi citizens so why did the Saudis not get even a slap on the wrist?

Why is it that the Saudis did not get even a slap on the wrist when 15 of the 19 hijackers of 9/11 were Saudi citizens? If Uncle Sam was willing to go to war over imagined WWD and after the head honcho of Al Qaed as if they could find him and hand him over when we couldn’t one would think the Saudis would have gotten a stern look for having more hijackers? Seem to me all they were was coddled and sugar coated. Surely the gas pump would never be involved. How would you explain them never getting looked at? If they were how come very, very few even heard tale of it?
