Do you unzip the window of your convertible before putting the top down?

Picked up a project car and while looking it over I unlatched the top and began to unzip the rear window. He Exclaimed He never unzips the rear window when putting the top down. I remember I had a full sized (1972 Delta 88) convertible that had a glass window and no way to unzip it. This is my first small car convertible. The window seems ok so it must not hurt anything. What do you guys do?
