Are apps for the ipad still adapted from the iphone?

Asked by tadpole (709points) June 26th, 2010

when the ipad first came out there were concerns raised about how some of the apps might work because they would be adapted from the iphone and not made specifically for the ipad…i think one of the issues here was to do with the stretching of the iphone made app to the ipad and it’s bigger screen…there might have been other concerns as well..

i went into my local newsagents and saw half a dozen magazines on apps for iphone and ipad…no magazine yet just for ipad…i wonder if the issues above raised initially have been resolved, or in truth amounted to nothing…these magazines did mostly not differentiate between apps for each device, that is all apps were suitable for both…

how likely is this to be true? have the apps been successfully adapted for the ipad? or have they been re-developed specifically for it? i know it still has not been long since it came out…i am really looking for people’s opinions on this….i accept there are probably better ways to find apps than buy a magazine on them…i was just wondering about it…

i recall there is something about re-buying apps for free once bought….would this cover the adaptations from iphone too? how do you know if you have an adapted app or one made especially for ipad? i don’t suppose it matters, just curious really…

hope to hear some opinions and thoughts…:-)
