What could be causing this buzzing sound?

For about the past 3 months I’ve noticed that any time I raise my voice or any sort of loud noise occurs, my right ear makes a deafening buzzing sound. I have to immediately go somewhere quiet and let it “settle” before it will stop. It’s fine once I get in quiet surroundings though. Could this be an eardrum problem? I can’t place any sort of event that might have negatively affected my hearing. I have no idea what the deal is. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
