Why do I feel incredibly stupid some days?

Why is it that some days I just feel really “duhhh?”
Sometimes it’s worse than others, of course. Today for example, I forgot for a split second which hand I hold my knife with and which hand I hold my fork with. (?!!?)
I also sell purses every summer, just a hobby really, but it’s something I’ve been doing for a long time. Today I am working on a purse order – my own pattern that I’ve made more times than I can count, yet I keep making really stupid mistakes.
I got enough sleep last night. I’ve eaten and hydrated just like any other day. Why is it that some days my brain just doesn’t seem to want to function?? Does this happen to everyone?
