Do any of you know the processes involved in home foreclosure?

We keep hitting financial bumps and I’ve been running 60 days behind on my house payments for several years. I’ll get caught up so I’m only 1 month behind, then we get hit with something else again. Well, I’ve kept it out of 90 days out, which, I believe, is the point when they start foreclosure proceedings. I paid half of the payment last week, intended to pay the other half this week on the 10th (today, Saturday,) which is when it’s due.

They don’t have an online payment option, but they do have an automated phone payment system, which is what I’ve used since they got it installed. But…..their automated phone payment system doesn’t seem to be working. I get so far then I get dead air. In other words, I can’t make the last half of my payment until Monday, when I can talk to someone. This will put me two days past 90 days, and I’m REALLY worried.

How serious is this? What could happen?
