Cat people! My vet suggested stridex pads for cat acne, I tried it once and her fur fell off...What's with that?

We use ceramic bowls, which we clean regularly. We’ve tried multiple foods in case it was an allergy. She still has chin acne. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all, so I’m thinking rather than make her lose her fur we probably will just live with the unsightly spots.
