How can i block a phone number from being received by my land line phone?

someone i know has been calling me on my land line phone and i want to ensure that he is not able to call me any longer (i have discussed with him that i am not receptive to his phone calls but i want to prevent the possibility of him deciding to start some late night or early morning harassment). how can i block his number from being received by my land line phone?
