How to hang my hammock without trees?

Asked by sarahsugs (2906points) March 23rd, 2008

I have a great hammock I want to hang in my backyard, but I don’t have room for a hammock stand, nor are there trees that are big enough. I can use the side of our neighbor’s shed for one end, and I am thinking of using a post for the other end. I found this post on-line: http://www.hammockstock.com/algoma-hammocks/removable—inchin-ground-inch-hammock-post/839.htm
I can’t find reviews of it and am wondering if a simple wooden post set in concrete would be better, or if there is some other way of hanging it that I am not thinking of. Obviously I want it to be safe and sturdy, and I want to be able to take it inside during bad weather. Any tips?
