Does anyone think that the u.s. has achieved their goal and should now move on?

the main reason why the u.s. fought for independance was because of higher taxes(tea tax, the townshend revenue act, sugar act, stamp act, etc…), because the british ended a war and were in debt. now, taxes in the u.s. are very low. do you think that the u.s. should get another goal?
