Does nonsense have some sense or is it that some sense is nonsense?

I have often found that the sense to sensibility is flawed with nonsense and nonsensical logic. However, on the other hand, though nonsense might be seen as illogical and without proper thought, there have been many inventions that were deemed as illogical and without merit that are now part of our current technology.
What are your thoughts, opinions, criticisms?
