Is it better to revive an old question again or just ask it again yourself?

I’m not sure if I am the only one to do this but sometimes when I do not care for the current questions I find myself looking at old questions (I’m talking more than a year old). I sometimes will answer an old question but sometimes wonder if it would just be better to ask the same question again? What would be a reasonable time frame to determine if an old question is too old to answer? I’m just looking for opinions here.
