Would you recommend an Asus Eee PC?

So my PC bit the dust last night and I’m in a bind for a computer. The Eee PC has gotten my attention due to its low cost, small size, and simplicity – and I’ve been on the lookout for something I can use in a Starbucks and leech their wifi.

So for those with experience with them, what do you think? Are they as good as people are saying? And have you tried any of the more memory-hogging applications on them (notably Photoshop on the Windows install, or Gimp on Linux)?
