(NSFW?) Females -- can you help me figure out what is going on "down there"?

I’m a 22 year old woman, I have sex on a semi daily basis. Same partner, we don’t use condoms, and I’m on birth control. Anyhow, in the past few months, I have been having the same thing happen every couple weeks. I haven’t really noticed a pattern. It tends to start out of the blue. But the most recent time, it started right after I was wearing new underwear…and I know some underwear can irritate you down there.

So what I’m experiencing is a slight itch that tends to linger around. I have never had a yeast infection but from the descriptions I’ve read of them, it doesn’t seem to be one. I’ve also had a little bit of different discharge. Not anymore than is normal for me, but it has been a little more white and slightly “chunky”...sorry. ew. i know. It’s not very chunky, just a little. It doesn’t smell.

I don’t have insurance so if going to a doctor can be avoided, I’d like that. It only lasts a few days usually. Any ideas? Anyone experienced this?
