It does more than go and stop; 40,000 pounds will get you from 0–60 in 2.9 seconds.

I loved that show. “Orange alert! Orange alert!” How completely cool.

It was an S2 Lotus 7. Over 160 manufacturing companies have copied the design over the years, and a lot of them well let you assemble it yourself.

You can still buy one today, if you want.

0–60 in under 3 seconds. That’s pretty sick! :D

@GeorgeGee on most English roads you’re lucky if you can get up to 60 in an hour.

@GeorgeGee If you have $60k (plus money for a Ford engine and tranny) and want to build the kit, take a look. Better deal, though, might be a Factory Five GTM, which does equal performance and costs as much as just the Caterham kit with a Corvette engine and Porsche 911 transmission.

@Fred931 But then Factory Five is an American company, so it probably can’t go around corners – especially compared to the Caterham.
