Does your jaw pop when you yawn?

mine does once in a while, and it hurts. (not too bad, but a little pain) and sometimes its loud.

And sometimes it just pops (mine does).

Yeah, mine does that. If it really bothers you, you should talk to your dentist. Although, for really mild cases (like mine: it doesn’t hurt, and it never locks in place) my dentist told me there is not much they can do. But, you might want to find out if you grind your teeth as well. These two things often come together, and grinding is bad. I grind my teeth, and I actually just recently chipped a tooth. I also clench, which is equally as bad. If you grind, please please please get a mouth guard. I can’t sleep without mine now. My jaw popping recently got a little worse (I have a little pain when I open too big) and I believe it has to do with the fact that I am grinding and clenching more now than ever before.. woo! go stress!

Talk to your dentist about it. The condyles on top of your jawbone might be snapping over a protuberence on your skull that I can’t recall the name of at the moment. It can hurt because you might be dislocating your jawbone a little bit.
