What is the beige colored rectangle on the marin headlands?

If it’s visible from the ocean, then I’d suggest that it’s probably some kind of navigational aid.

I figured it out this weekend but they are redoing a part of the road and are reinforcing the hillside below the road…and yes, I’m in SF but not sure if I could fit all of the Flutherites in my apartment!
