New electric kettle - how do you get rid of the plastic taste?

We tried to serve coffee during the seder last night... Awful plastic taste.

Have you tried boiling about 3 changes of water for about 5 minutes each? That did it for my new kettle, and I think was in the directions...

Tried that thanks but it still tastes of plastic I wondered if somethimg like lemon would do the trick or would it then taste of lemon.

I had to boil lemon juice in mine when I first bought it. Just dilute a bit of juice in it on high and it could help you :)
