Well, I have a whole list from my family. I’m buying them exactly what they asked for!

I’m getting my sister a ball whisk, because she eyes it every time we pass cooking stores.

I buy practical but really nice. On the list – new pillows, sets of sheets (guys don’t think to buy good ones), le Creuset stew pot, cookbooks, underwear and socks, iTunes gift cards, bar glasses, personal calling cards (like business card, but home contact information).

Every year, I find something handy that everyone gets—one year it was jumper cables, another year it was a small Leatherman tool, or bungee cords, great outdoor gloves. This year, it’s a Fuel headlamp. This was awesome when the power went out for several days, and indispensible when trying to change a tire in the dark, or camping, or taking the trash out at night.

Friends get a bottle of wine.

Oh crud. I haven’t thought much about it yet, other than what we’re getting for the kids. For the youngest, mainly Legos. He’s obsessed. The middle child is getting a basketball hoop for the driveway. Our oldest is getting the Hogwarts Lego set and maybe one of those Flip video cameras (the older model which is super cheap right now on Amazon!). I don’t know what anyone else is getting, except that the kids will get to pick out a really obnoxious pair of pajama bottoms for my husband. It’s a holiday tradition! I’ll probably send my grandma something edible, like a basket of cookies.

I guess I need to get past Thanksgiving before I can really start thinking about it!

@BarnacleBill: I gave everyone, including my close friends, the miner’s lamp as an unChristmas gift. Getting an unexpected present on an undistinguished day is fun for us all.

I’m not buying them anything because they aren’t buying me anything. To be honest I don’t want anything. No presents this year for christmas.

No christmas presents, I’ve never been into all of that. My family used to do that when I was young, but after I became ten not even Santa arrived :(.

Im going to acapulco with my girlfriend during christmas and you can guess who’s gonna pay, but apart from that no gifts.

But for ideas, could be a nice warm pair of socks. I would certainly love one.

I just give the three adult grandsons and their Mom money, my granddaughter gets money, and the two toddlers get toys. Their parents get credit toward the money they have borrowed.

Well, I am currently a stay/work at home mommy with no income (my husband is a teacher). That means Holiday gifts are going to be very inexpensive this year. Very inexpensive. I am thinking framed photos, mugs, etc. with pictures of my newborn son, Jackson, from Snapfish. The only people I plan on getting other gifts for are the kiddos. My son, niece and nephew are all getting the real gifts.
I recommend gift cards for other people. Everyone loves them.
For kids I like:

Stumped for kids’ stocking stuffers, we bought gift certificates to the movie theater closest to their house and threw in a pomegrantate for each since they were fascinated by the fruits. I also bought sample size deodorant, toothpaste and travel toothbrushes since their handles double as protective covers and keep from dust between visits to our house. I’m contemplating getting each kid a small plastic caddy to keep under the sink that will hold their individual toiletries since all will share our “guest” bathroom when they make their visits.

We found a delightful package at Sam’s Club with two giant trucks in it. It is the perfect gift for the two toddler boys.
