What are good movies to see in 2010?

Asked by johndoe88882222 (66points) December 8th, 2010

I enjoy most types of movies. I’m looking for something that I may have missed in theaters, so no huge blockbusters.

Winter’s Bone. RT, IMDb.

Ah, I’m too slow for @janbb.

I liked Chloe and A Crime. Both kind of dark dramas.

Glengarry Glen Ross.
It is a good fantastic movie to watch every year.

I’m very excited about Burlesque and Little Fockers course, I may be a little bias towards both

If you have not seen it, Letters to Juliet is worth seeing.

@marinelife Yes – that was a surprising treat.

Wild Target, Flipped, Conviction, Kick-Ass (man do I love that movie), Operation: Endgame, Animal Kingdom, Soul Kitchen, Oxford Murders, Letters to Father Jacob, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Letters to God, Malice in Wonderland, Heartbreaker, Heartless, Buried, [REC] 2, The Sicilian Girl, Daniel and Ana (It’s hard to watch though because it’s such a messed up story, especially since it’s based on a true story), I Love You Phillip Morris (if you haven’t already seen it, I think it came out last year but it’s in theaters again).

I’ve only recommended what I’ve seen and enjoyed.

The Fighter, comes out this Friday and it’s supposed to be really good.
Also, there’s Tron Legacy.

You might check out: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/ a site that gives lots of reviews of current movies. I find that their rating system is pretty good.

Black Swan was every bit as good as I hoped it would be. Not sure if that counts as a “blockbuster”, but it is definitely a film worth seeing.

The King’s Speech seems to be all the rage lately in NYC

To me, “The Next Three Days” was the movie to see of 2010. Starring Russell Crowe, who rarely disappoints.

@mrrich724 – true to form! RC rarely disappoints. Here, here!

If you want an action fix I would suggest The Expendables, RED, and/or The A-Team. All of these were amazing in my opinion, though I am an action movie junkie.

For comedies, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Get Him to the Greek and Hot Tub Time Machine all pleasantly exceeded my expectations.

erichw1504's avatar

Yes, Get Him to the Greek was more funny than I had anticipated. I was geeking out pretty much the entire film.
