The Cinnamon Challenge: Have you accepted it and what was your reaction?

Asked by Joker94 (8180points) February 18th, 2011

If you don’t know, the Cinnamon Challenge is trying to swallow a whole tablespoon of cinnamon within 60 seconds without the aid of water. Generally, it goes like this. I attempted it tonight myself, but my friend only gave me about half the amount (without me realizing). I might attempt it again, just to say I did. So, have any other jellies taken the challenge? If so, how was it? If not, do you plan on trying?

This is in the social section so I am free to not only no I haven’t but also why the hell would I even want to? Is there a prize? Is it such a horrible feat that no matter what pain and injury it might cause me, the title of Biggest Cinnamon Swallower would be reward enough?

I have to ask, why? What is the purpose of eating the cinnamon? Or is it just the challenge of being able to do it without being sick or something?

Did this “challenge” orginate on Jackass, or Dumb and Dumber?

No, and I won’t jump off a cliff or beat someone up for playing on the Internet either. Stupid.

@jlelandg It doesn’t seem so bad at first, but after about 6 seconds all the moisture in your mouth just dries up. It’s pretty horrific.
@lillycoyote There’s really no prize in it, yeah…but if you can convince a friend to take it, the results are usuall pretty funny…

Haha. I’ll have to challenge my partner to this task, and let you know how it goes. He adores cinammon to the point of obsession.
