What to do during winter break?

Asked by lov3xDrnk (239points) February 19th, 2011

It’s winter break and I’m stoked. It’s only the first day and I’ve went out with friends twice in the rain. Nothing better! But I need ideas of stuff to do at home when I can’t go out, and general stuff to keep me entertained for the week. Please make it creative.

Why not start a blog or even a Vlog? many people do it now but it sure kills time and can be fun to do.

From this question, you should probably get a math tutor. Sorry!

Maybe review your math and some English (I’ve gone out with friends…)

Movie Marathon! Pick a different movie you’ve never seen and try and watch one each day. It’s what I’d do. I try to watch a new movie every weekend!

Read Gone With the Wind. That may take about a week. It’s a little long, but well worth the read. It has some words that may not be considered PC in today’s standards, but you can’t change the way things were once accepted, so need need having a plazo over things from the past you can’t change, anyway. Enjoy it, especially Pork.

@lov3xDrnk I hope you realize I was teasing. I hate math.

Learn to make something that you absolutely love, but have never made before. Maybe a blueberry pie or a vegetable lasagna or Mexican dinner with enchiladas suizas, Spanish rice and frijoles ollas. Whatever it is that you like, look up recipes online (or dig one out that your mom or grandma used to make) then go to it. Then you could invite your friends over to help you or at least eat the food once it’s made.

And go to a few places (wherever you are) that you think are the most beautiful and take a bunch of photographs. Then you’ll have some ready-made gifts to give people come holiday time. You can also go ahead of time to buy some frames. I always get frames on sale at Big Lots or Target or Walmart and then keep them in a drawer. When somebody’s birthday or a holiday rolls around, then I get a print made from some of my nature shots and frame it up and wrap it. So far, people have been very appreciative.
