How much commission does a timeshare salesman make?

I’m just wondering how commission is paid when a timeshare is sold at one of those seminars. I’ve been to a timeshare seminar in Gatlinburg and the salespeople seemed very serious about selling us a timeshare (we didn’t buy one) and I was just wondering how much commission they make off of selling these things.

I would imagine he makes in the vicinity of 5–10%. It probably depends on the unit and the property, but one good month can help set him up for the year, just like any commission-based sales job.
