How do you receive the "maximum" total living allowance for americorps?

Asked by Glow (1366points) March 29th, 2011

I am currently a part-time Americorps volunteer and I make the “Minimum Living Allowance”, which is $6,247. On a sheet of paper given to me it says the “Maximum Living Allowance” is $12,500. I plan to stay at my location next year and as full time, but even with the “Minimum Living Allowance” I may not be able to, so I was wondering, how do I receive that maximum? What do I need to do, or what is required?

You need to ask your supervisor this question. It may be dependent on the cost of living where you are assigned. Being in Chicago would be more costly than being in West Virginia. Or it could have something to do with your education level.
