Does anyone know an order catalog that I can purchase real gold jewelery from that allows you to make low monthly payments?

Something on the basis of Fingerhut, but not Fingerhut. I want one that lets you set up an account with them.

You could get a charge account at Macy’s and buy jewelry from them, or go to a local jeweler and put jewelry on layaway if you can’t afford to buy it outright.

@silky1 I don’t think any store will send you any real gold jewelry with only your saying, “I promise to send you money.”
You might be able to get a credit / charge account if you have other credit cards.

As others have suggested I would get a credit card, preferbly one that has a very low introductory rate. Jewelry stores might have their own credit card, but watch for a very high interest rate.

Really my first reaction was, save your money and buy jewelry when you can really afford the item. Going into debt for jewelry is not a good idea to me. Jewelry is not a necessity. Almost anything you buy on time will cost so much more in the end. Also, shop around, jewelry stores frequently have sales.

@JLeslie that is the only practical way to do these sort of transactions. My daughter bough a $9000 used car once with a credit card that came with a 0% first year interest rate.

I was dismayed that she spent $9000 on a credit card until I heard the interest rate. She immediately canceled the card after the last payment.

Don’t overlook pawn shops. There’s a large one near me that has a lay-away plan with no interest if you pay it off within a certain time frame. You don’t get the item until it’s paid for.
