What are great jeans for me?

Asked by Samant (183 points ) June 21st, 2011

I’m looking for skinny low-rise jeans in size 4. Height: 5’4”
Weight: 117lbs
Bust: 35A
Waist: 26
Hips: 37
Budget doesn’t matter. I have always liked brands like Lee, Levi’ and True Religion, others are okay as well. I was mainly wear them at school or in town, maybe to certain parties.

Welcome to Fluther.

My choice would be “blue”.

Sounds to me like you know what you are looking for…

Ummm… Are you wanting us to pick a style for you?

Any advice is welcome! :)

Given the info in your profile, you seem to have a curvy, unboyish body and want to look like a woman.

Therefore, try on Levi’s or Lees in woman’s size small. It’s pretty straightforward. We all need to try on jeans, no matter what our size or shape.

How old are you? What shape are you? Pear, apple? full hips? narrow hips? do you like low rise or mid rise jeans?

Go to the store Buckle if there is one near you. They specialize in unisex clothing and will help you with the fit you need with all the things that @judi has brought up taken into consideration. But the store is not cheap. Jeans start at around 75.00.

I’m 17 and I think I’m a semi-pear with quite full hips. Low-rise maybe.

@Samant Also, look to the right of this question. You’ll see a section labeled Related. There are some good questions and answers there that might help you out with your “how to dress” questions.

Are you longer in the legs or longer in the body?
Your shape seems full and you’re relatively short in overall height so I’d think you’d look best in mid-waist styles with straighter legs. Bootcut or flares will shorten your legs and skinny pant legs will make you look like all butt and no legs.

Victoria’s Secret usually has good jean fabrics in a bunch of different body styles as do GAP and Express.

You sound like you have a similar shape as my neice who is 16 wearing about a size 5 juniors and she loves the brand Bongo which I know she gets at Sears. But even then she needs to try them on in order to get the right fit because every style of jeans even the same brand fits a little differently.

Hydraulics jeans have magical sexy ass making powers, with sides of sexy thighs and sexy legs and sexy hips. Seriously. Every single pair of jeans they come out has been like the pants in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. You can find them at Macys, you used to be able to find them at Nordstroms, and there are usually some pairs at Ross (Dress for Less), although those are normally the uglier designs. Their website says you can also get them at Kohls, Gliks, The Bonton, Tilly’s, Mandee, and Maurices. There’s a chance that Wet Seal and Forever 21 might carry them on occasion, too.

I have longer legs than body.

@Samant: In that case, you can wear the lower waisted pants without looking stumpy.

@WasCy Thanks! Blue?
@Randy Yes.
