Can you recommend a good site for streaming tv shows while outside the US?

Asked by Mamradpivo (9665points) July 2nd, 2011

I’m a little hesitant to use BitTorrent, though the Netherlands has a policy of not pursuing downloaders. I’d really like to find a site so I can stream TV shows from back home. Particularly (and I’m a little embarrassed to admit it) the new season of True Blood.

Can anyone recommend either a site I don’t know about or an easy way to use a proxy server of some sort to access US-based streaming services?

The risk of picking up a virus from the advertisements on streaming sites is very high. And it is no more legal than torrenting. Unfortunately, HBO will not let you stream from outside the US.

Thanks both. @sarahhhhh Looks like blinkx.com will work for me. I really appreciate it.

I haven’t tried this, but wouldn’t a proxy site work to make it look like you’re viewing from the US ? That way you’d get the real deal without the hazards of other grey-market solutions.
