My Minecraft account just... Died. Can you help?

Asked by jellyfish3232 (1852points) July 18th, 2011

Yep. I tried to log in, and it failed. Then I tried again and though it was successful, Minecraft updated and all of my world saves are gone. I looked in the mincraft folder and all of the save files are still there, but they don’t appear in the game. I’m not sure what to do now. Help? Oh, I forgot. I just downloaded a world and put it in the save file folder, and it hadn’t unarchived correctly. But I deleted it, and my saves are still corrupted.

Perhaps the mojang servers are down. Again. Can you play offline?

Yep, I was playing offline. It’s something wrong with my game specifically.

Should have backed up your saves beforehand. If they’re corrupted they’re corrupted. Try moving them out of the folder and forcing a redownload.

Try using the ‘Previous versions’ tool if you’re using Windows 7. It’s extremely helpful. (It still works if you haven’t made any backups or system restores).

Right click the saves folder -> properties -> click on previous versions tab
