Google+ question about Circles?

Asked by RareDenver (13173points) July 20th, 2011 from iPhone

Still waiting for an invite (you know who you are) but I wonder, can Circles act like Ven Diagrams? i.e. can I put my cousin in both my Family Circle and my Friends Circle?

Absolutely—that’s the thing I’m most excited about with G+. And you can create your own labels for your circles, making them as granular as you wish. I’m going to play the game for a while to see if it really does overtake Facebook.

I’m on it and really love it. The Circles are great and yes, they can overlap. I even have a circle with just one person in it. There are not really enough people on it yet to make it dynamic but I am growing mine slowly anyway.

Circles is nearly identical to sending group messages to friends on face book… Really don’t know what the big deal is with google+ other that googles figured out a way to trick people into providing them with more data to mine.

@Silence04 Circles isn’t like FB groups. Groups creates a separate page, a, well, group, if you will. Circles is more like FB lists, a way to categorize your various friends and delineate who you want to share various profile and status info with. It is, however, much easier to change what circles you’re sharing an update with than it is to pick out which people you’re sharing it with on FB.
