Could you tell how tall this ice sculpture is just by looking at the photo?

It’s not possible for me to tell, because I can’t really judge how close the person in the photo is to the structure, so I can’t compare and say “this many six-foot lengths tall, so it is ‘x’ feet high”.

I’m also not sure where the base of the structure is, and whether the person in the photo is even standing at the same base elevation or not.

I was going to guess like a foot tall.

Because I’m not seeing a shadow from it but do see a tree’s shadow, I’m saying it’s trick photo and thus no taller than say, 2 feet.

I think it’s a trick photo. If I look closely, I can see that in front of the block of ice there is snow right up against the camera, so it looks like the “big block” of ice is actually right up against the camera lens, and the man is standing way in the background. I guess the big block is only a small one, like a few inches tall? Neat trick.

By the way, the Chinese in Northern China are actually a very tall race——on average they are taller than your average white North American, so maybe the ice sculpture is humongous. Lol.

@MRSHINYSHOES Also some interesting trivia is that China holds the most 7 Footers in the world, even ratio wise in correlation to Europe & Africa, & the States!

I guessed about six feet. I could see that it was a deceptive shot, with the ice in the foreground and the figure in the distance. But of course there’s no point of reference in the foreground.

I love shit like this!!

No, But I can estimate how tall the pole behind the guy is because I can see its shadow and it is in perspective and level to the man. *If of course I could do math, which I can’t so… That’s a no all around.
