If you no longer wish it to be on Fluther or you feel you have enough info or advice on it?

Yes just PM a mod and they can delete it. I have deleted a question before.

It depends on why you want to remove it and how many responses the question has received. It will be up to @augustlan whether if is removed or not.

It isn’t guaranteed she will say yes.

I know I already replied to your PM, but figured I’d post here, too, so other people can see.

We very rarely remove questions that meet our guidelines, because it removes not only the asker’s contributions, but those of everyone who answered, too. There has to be a pretty compelling reason to remove it, and we decide on a case-by-case basis. You can flag it and let us know what your concern is, and we decide from there.

A year or so back, I wrote a question that went so far away from the nature I’d asked the question in, it had left me feeling really disjointed. I felt like I’d been a fool to ask it, based on the way in which people had responded. (I can’t even remember now what it was about! I do remember, in hindsight, realising that it was more of an over-sensitiveness on my part, coupled with a notable cross-the-Atlantic difference in style of response, rather than my actually being called an idiot.)

At the time, I was desperate for it to be removed, and Auggie was very gentle in her response, as above. I came to appreciate that while I felt one way about it, it didn’t mean that it would be unhelpful to someone else who might come to read it in future, and that’s the whole reason for being on this site: To offer helpful opinions, and to receive them.

Although I realize that the founders have moved on to other things and no new development is happening on Fluther, but I think a useful feature would be to allow a member to ask a question anonymously (it still has to be posted by a registered member and meet the guidelines for the section it’s posted in). Perhaps limit it to one anonymous question per week. And if someone asked a question they later regretted, they could ask a mod to change it to anonymous.
