What other songs/music sound like "Video Games" by Lana Del Rey and "Motion Picture Soundtrack" by Radiohead?

Asked by ftp901 (1318points) April 12th, 2012

I find the background orchestration in both of these songs haunting. They have a magical sound like old Disney films and harps and orchestras. Can you point me to some other songs that have this old school harp/orchestra vibe? Either old Disney movies or just short little orchestral instrumental songs…whatever. What do these 2 songs remind you of?

There is a dreamy quality to both songs, which are both strong on Harp.

She’s Leaving Home by the Beatles

Silver Spring by Fleetwood Mac

You’ll probably like Yanni.

Thanks @SmashTheState. Although the Didgeridoo is fabulous, Yanni isn’t quite what I was looking for.

Here are a few songs that Video Games by Lana Del Ray reminds me of:

Thanks @Sponge – I didn’t know any of those songs.

The video for The Sun is beautiful.

Well, ‘Yayo’ is another great heartbreaking song. Except with a wayyyy different meaning. If you want something with somewhat the same meaning as ‘Video Games’ you might as well listen to ‘Million Dollar Man’. Both of these songs are by Lana Del Rey. But theres a good one of her singing a song from when she was still known as Lizzie Grant which is ‘Pin up Galore’ The one of her singing live sounds better, well in my opinion
