Might well do – I’d be more likely to get it once I have an iPhone though. My current phone already syncs via iSync, and I don’t need the additional functionatilty as yet.

I want to get it. I was going to purchase .mac anyway. Now its even better.

i should really do my apple web sales training, i get a year of .mac for one exam, so i’m getting it that way, although i’m doing it for the webspace right now, if in time i get an iphone, i’d have more use for it

it’s freakin’ awesome though!

yeah i have .mac so it automatically upgrades for me in july, but i was interested to see if anyone was more interested now that it got some new features and upgrades

Bri_L's avatar

So the .mac accounts will automatically upgrade? I missed that. thanks for the post!

waterskier2007's avatar

@ Bri L, yes you should have gotten an email. and it also says that on the mobileme information page, and you automatically get upgraded from 10 GB of space to 20 GB of space for an individual account, im not sure how it works for family accounts

I hadn’t seen it yet, but it looks like Mozilla’s Weave. I also believe there were plans for the OpenMoko phone operating system for which I might get a device, so I think I’ll wait for a free plan to emerge for that.

@ watershier2007 – Thanks! I just found it. I have been on a illustration work binge of 42 hours so I have not seen my email. Very interesting. Looks cool.

waterskier2007's avatar

yeah im pretty stoked about it especially since i get it for free, and it will make me renew it because of the added features

Bri_L's avatar

I was thinking that same thing.

is mobileme going to do the web hosting still? I havent seen anything on the site about it. I still want the www. Site. And does anyone know if you get multiple http://www.____.com’s with a family pack. What are the benefits of family?

waterskier2007's avatar

yes, you get multiple http://www.______.coms with the family pack, one per user. the advantages of a family pack is that you get 1 main account with 10 GB of web storage, and 4 sub accounts that share another 10 GB of storage (but with MobileMe this doubles to 40 GB of total storage)

waterskier2007's avatar

and yes, i just read the mobileme site and it mentions that it will work with iWeb and it seems like you still get a .mac.com or in this case a .me.com domain

Speaking of this, is it possible at this point to register for a .mac account? I can’t seem to find where. Any help greatly appreciated!

Perhaps, once I finally am able to get a job and afford it. Hopefully start of next year I’ll be working at the local NextByte, the only Apple-focused shop down here in Tasmania…
