I’m not a nutritionist or doctor but my understanding is a higher protein diet will keep you satisfied for longer. So it’s beneficial in that way. You still need to eat regularly though to keep your metabolism working effectively. You also don’t want to eat too much protein because like anything else, too much is not good for you.
I would suggest avoiding processed carbs like bread, pasta, pastry and the like and try to make meals like steamed chicken and vegetables (keep the starchy veg to a minimum). You could freeze some meals for yourself so you don’t have to eat what your husband eats. That saves cooking two meals when you get home. Or make such a meal but add more carbs to his.
