Who makes the best gas grill (please see details)

Asked by josie (30934points) April 17th, 2013

I am giving away my old gas grill to a kid in the neighborhood whom I “mentored” and who just got his first apartment

I figure I am a friend in need, plus… it gives me an excuse to get a brand new grill!

My old grill is a Weber Genesis.

It has been a few years since I bought my grill. I was looking at new Webers and they are really expensive, especially compared to some of the competition, and there seems to be quite a few competitors these days.

Still, Weber seems to be the heaviest duty, the least wobbly and the difference in cost may just reflect a difference in quality.

I also have a charcoal grill, which I am keeping. I am talking gas at this moment.

What are your opinions?

I used to sell Ducane gas grills. It’s my opinion they are the best on the market. Still, it’s been a long time, and other grills may have changed. Be forewarned: they are expensive.

I sold one to my sister, and it’s still going strong almost 17 or 18 years later.

We have a Weber Baby Q and I have never liked it very much. It is well made, not wobbly as you say, but it doesn’t seem to get very hot. I have had it looked at and they say it is just as it should be, but seems as if it takes forever for food to be properly cooked and then it seems more roasted than grilled. But they certainly have the reputation of being the best so who knows?????

My first grill was a Weber. They’re alright, not the best. Now I own a Lynx. These are the finest. Lynx
