How about this for a frivolous lawsuit? Man wants to sue King Herod, Pontius Pilate, Tiberius, Italy. and Israel for the death of Jesus.

Asked by elbanditoroso (33159points) July 30th, 2013

Talk about a minimal chance of winning!! And it will be tough to question witnesses.

Why would the International Court of Justice accept his petition in the first place?

Very frivolous. Some people simply cannot let it go.

Happens everyday in America

Didn’t Jesus kill an entire heard of pigs when he removed a demon from someone. A thousand pigs sounds like Jesus was a shit disturber. Just killing one can get you sentenced to death, like a barn burner or a horse thief in the 18th centaury, the famer can get damages.

They didn’t kill Jesus. Jesus committed suicide. Death by centurions you know-?

There isn’t any proof for the existence of Jesus. You can’t be guilty of killing a myth.

I know right… Would be like trying to kill the myth of Socrates. No proof he existed either.

I don’t think that this man has any chance of winning and furthermore I feel that he just wants to debate it in the courts.
Just for exposure to flaunt his Religion most likely.

I would also like to sue Snape for killing Dumbledore.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies Socrates isn’t in the same vein as Jesus. The bible claims Jesus is a divine being capable of supernatural feats. Claims like that require extraordinary proof. Of which, there is none.

Socrates doesn’t need to prove anything. The work attributed to him stands up on it’s own merits.

As for the technicalities, apart from the fact that the people that nut wants to sue are all dead, the ‘countries’ that existed back then, namely the Roman Empire and Roman Judea, no longer exist today, so there is no one to sue. Italy and Israel may occupy the same space, but legally they are separate entities.

Charlie Chaplin should have sued Hitler, the little clown was going to invade Poland with Buster Keaton & Harold Lloyd as his generals, but Adolf stole his thunder right from under his nose…just like that daft tache.

Israel? That’s going to be a tough one to prove…

@flip86 You didn’t put his divinity in question. You put his existence in question.

People do the same for Socrates. Their existence should require the same amount of “proof”... whatever that is. I can’t “prove” Abraham Lincoln existed either.

If Socrates didn’t exist, however, that wouldn’t affect the ideas attributed to him.

Same could be said of Jesus. Mark Twain didn’t exist either.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies You are all the same. Every time someone questions the existence of Jesus, Christians always say so and so has no proof of existence either. What does that matter? Even if they didn’t exist, how is that a compelling argument for another person’s existence?

There are photographs of Abe Lincoln and Mark Twain. What other proof do you need?

Unlike Jesus, Socrates’ existence is supported by contemporary sources, namely Aristophanes, Xenophon and Plato.
