Will Choclo make popcorn?

Is the seed type for Choclo something that will pop when heated like normal popping corn kernels? What makes some popcorn “pop” but not others? Does all popcorn pop?

This might help with the popcorn questions. I am unfamiliar with Choclo so I cannot say whether or not it will pop.

Probably not, the softer, edible, sweet corn does not pop because it doesn’t have a hard outer shell.
