What are some things one could be blamed for, when they're guilty of something else?

For example, a cop goes to arrest a guy who is supposedly a criminal. The truth is, he is not guilty of this, but he is sleeping with the cop’s wife.

That’s a pretty hard question.

I can only think of a story: one day a pickpocket sees a handbag which, for some unknown reason, is left unattended. He quietly slips his hand into it and get some money. Then he notices that someone seems to have seen him from a distance (which is actually not true), he is so horrified that he runs away. While he is running, he accidentally push a boy on his way, causing him to fall into a manhole nearby. The boy suffers some injuries, therefore the pickpocket is charged with injury infliction. And because no one saw the pickpocket taking the money, no one ever suspects him of stealing.
