What's the best type of paper for printing a small zine folded from A3?

Asked by radioethiopia (32points) November 10th, 2013

I’m making a zine folded from A3 paper, but I’m not sure what type of paper is the nicest or where to order it. Hopefully something matte that will hold well and has a nice texture/thickness.

The paper is dependent upon the printing method. Is this an offset press run? laser press? short run indigo? or just something you’re putting together on your home ink jet? Not all papers can be run through all printers.

Your pressman should show samples of their available substrates.

Staples has a 28 lb bright white matte finish paper.
I recommend it to everbody that is looking for good paper that won’t break the bank.
It folds nice and colors turn out vibrant. It won’t bleed through, even when you’re printing double sided. Anything less than 28 lb is flimsy and won’t look nice. Anything heavier will look like crap at the folded edges.
