In your opinion, what are the top 5 best new web apps (free or not free)

I haven’t used it yet, but being a Scrabble fan, I love the fact that I can play with Checkword (and it’s free!)

Pandora radio is also good, since I use that from time to time (also free). AOL radio is an alternative.

Movies and/or Box Office for looking up show times on the fly (also free).

The other three I have are Urbanspoon, a location based restaurant guide, which only covers large metro areas at the moment, Jott, and Light, which creates a white screen to be used as a flashlight.

none of these are webapps, like the question says, although i think the asker meant to say apps and not webapps

I’m digging de Blob and Remote, Last.fm is cool too and the Google app is incredible. Whrrl is neat too, but none of my friends have iPhones / iPods…sigh.

@ waterskier: true. I assumed he meant apps since the focus the last couple days has been on the new App Store.

yeah i was assuming he did but i was just pointing it out cus there is a big difference. and when he said paid or free that kind of gave it away too
