As an extension to a question asked earlier regarding sci-fi movies, I was thinking about They Live. Now the subliminal conditioning may not be as overt as the movie, but I believe the argument could be made that there are multiple ominous similarities between real life and that movie. Are there other movies out there that have the same disquieting slices of real?

Well They Live was the director/writer’s own satirical commentary on our consumerist culture, so of course there’s a lot of similarities. That was the point.
