The republican follies keep getting more and more amusing. What's your thought about Newt Gingrich volunteering to be Trump's running mate?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33158points) May 1st, 2016

Gingrich, you may remember, ran for president several times in the last couple of decades and was pretty much a failure at it.

He also had the US default on its payments because he didn’t get to ride in Air Force One. He was also the guy that asked his 2nd wife for a divorce while she was in the hospital.

Is this the best the republican party can do? Or have they reached the bottom of the barrel?

Aw, poor Newt keeps volunteering for jobs no one wants him to do.

Trump would not have a fat man on his ticket.

He is the one that right wing voters deserve

I find absolutely nothing amusing about the Republican campaign. As for Newt’s lousy resume, it would probably be viewed as possive rather than negative for Trump followers.

I hadn’t heard this. LOL. I don’t think I’ve heard politicians offer themselves up for VP publicly before. I didn’t see or hear about this. I’ll have to google a little. I haven’t been watching politics the last week, but I did tape Meet The Press and This Week this morning.

Newt has been bypassed as the Republican icon for self serving meanness. His great legacy in the history of the country is as front man on the notion that the nation would prosper if first run aground on the rocks of bankruptcy. It should surprise no one that the reviled mean little man would toady up to Trump.
