Where can I get Blu Ray content?

Asked by RandomMrdan (7436points) July 30th, 2008

I have a media center computer setup to my Sony Bravia with 1080p, and I have blu ray movies, and I buy them regularly, but does anyone know how I can turn my movies into some sort of file I can store on my PC, and just archive for easy access through my computer? Or even better yet, some sort of place I can Torrent movies I am unsure of owning, but would like to view in Blu Ray?

I’m pretty sure Blu-Ray is encrypted with a DRM.

what is DRM? and what does it mean for what I’m trying to accomplish?

Digital Rights Management. Check it on Wikipedia.

on Wikipedia, it mentioned that all DRM systems have been defeated or circumvented. Not the case so far with Blu Ray?

With the size of blu-ray media (25gb for single layer, 50gb for dual layer), you’d end up spending a lot on hard drive space to store them.

If you’re unsure about buying a movie, rent it. Don’t steal it.
