Geometry question...

Kelvin and his friend Theo are swinging on a swing set at a local park. Both swings are the same length. Kelvin swings through an angle of 47 degrees and Theo swings through an angle of 44 degrees. Which of the two friends is swinging through the greatest distance? Explain.

kelvin travels the greater distance, because of his larger arc. He is higher at apogee than Theo.

See if you can draw a picture for the problem. Do you see that the swings make circular arcs?
