How thick do you make the exterior and interior walls of a residence if you are using Post and Beam construction instead of standard Timber Frame?

I think a good Post and Beam construction looks better than a traditional and standard Timber Frame. But how thick should the walls be when drawing up plans?

Post and Beam is historically 10 to 12 inches by the same. . . so wall thickness of up to 12 inches.

I owned a 1720’s center chimney with post and beam.

As a GC, I’d recommend (simply based on cost) to use 2”x6” dimensional lumber for exterior walls and 2”x4” for interior. This will provide more than enough width for insulation, which is where I’d invest any additional monies.
