What is the best way to get platinum blonde hair?

I’m a male with almost elbow length brown hair. Parts of it were purple then died back brown, It’s not noticeable, but I don’t know if that will affect the process. I need to know from people who have tried or are knowledgeable in the area whether I could do it at home or if I NEED to go to a salon (If so, about how much would it cost) also, any specific things to look out for that might ruin it completely while doing it at home.

Any major change should be done by a professional, you could really cause damage otherwise.

Going platinum should be done at a salon. Otherwise you could turn it orange or other shades you don’t want. Or you could damage it enough to make it fall out.
I get highlights in my hair which is elbow length too, and the cost is around 80.00. I would bet yours would be over 100.00. Go to a salon and get an estimate.

The best way is to live in a sunny paradisaical place and spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors, so it just naturally turns blonde in the sunlight.
