The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days starting November 1,2018. No one loses as its real goal is to get one in the writing mode and thus get started on your novel.
I did this a couple of years ago for the first time and by the end I had 40,000 words completed and a beginning of a novel idea.
At first it seemed hard but soon it became easier as soon as I sat down and typed out everything and anything until it morphed into a good true story. Its fun when you do it with a group, as i did at my local library once a week and the rest of the time at home on my computer.I always copied each session on a USB flash drive then
later printed it out as a final draft in order to go over it with a fine tooth comb to edit and change things until I was happy with the results. That way I always had the original on hand to compare the process of noting the story line etc

Would you like inspiration to start that novel? is the Question.
I was giving motivation to people who need it to begin writing. The contest is internationally accepted and is free. Groups gather every year in either September or November to compose a story in 30 days as incentive for there book.
A real published novel has about 140 thousand words generally but there are shorter ones too.
If promoting..then I promote inspiration and motivation.

I’ve participated in this before. It might be a good idea to do so again to give myself a chance to start a new novel.

So far I have written one novel and 200,000 words of a second novel (that, let’s face it, may never be finished). I have some ideas for other novels that I would like to get off the ground. So I may do that this November. :)

@Demosthenes Good for you! Good luck, as writers have to come up with writing ideas and this is a very good motivator with results.

I have too much attention problems to write. I would probably have to essentially dictate, and have heavy editing.
