Need motivation and advice?

Asked by Marwa (24points) June 14th, 2019

I have always wanted to be the main character in my life ever since i was little ever since i started watching anime.
But all those main characters have a goal a dream in their life and for me i have no idea what my dream is or was , so i went with the flow and ended up in medicine and in rahbar which might be by mistake.
Now i have zero motivation no feeling of studying its like i am dead.
My dad paying alot and it was his persistence that made me end up in medical.
Anyhow i was also not very sure about what i wanted to do.
So since i have zero passion towards anything i don’t think i am naruto or luffy or midoriyo.
Having no goal, letting ur topper position be taken by someone now that i think i always thought i would be a topper since i was the main character of my life but nahh it was all a joke.
Well, i am stuck now as a loser and as a pathetic person, so does anyone have any advice for me?

You often become what you see yourself becoming; so, I strongly suggest that you replace the “pathetic loser” with a person of character who is strong & self confident!!! That part I cannot give you as you have to figure it out for yourself.

My advice, above all, is to extricate yourself from this anime story you’re living in, and be a real person. Sit quietly for a few minutes and watch yourself breathe. Notice your body, your hands, your arms and legs, your heartbeat; you’re a real human made of real meat, not a cartoon character.

And your life is a real life—a very short life. I suggest you get out into the world and start hanging out with other meat-people; leave the anime world behind. Get a girlfriend / boyfriend / puppy, someone else made of meat, with a beating heart, and make the most of the time you have.

Next, about “loser” and “pathetic”—keep reading, I’m not going to say what people usually say. Those words don’t have any useful meaning. What do you mean “loser”? I don’t know. Do you mean you can’t play piano? That’s what makes me feel like a loser. Same thing for pathetic. Do you mean you fear that you’ll never have a sex partner again? I didn’t think so.

No need to answer me, you need only answer yourself: what do you mean “loser”? Specifics, not “Well, you know…a loser!” None of that. What specifically makes you deem yourself a loser, and pathetic? Set yourself a goal of finding out what you mean.

And while you’re searching your mind for that, see if you can find anything relating to your lack of goal / dream / passion—or your sadness at lacking those things. I used to feel bad about not having a passion. Take a lesson from me: feeling bad never accomplished anything. If you don’t have a passion, then you don’t have one. Nothing wrong with that. No need for you to measure up to the anime heros. Remember, they don’t even feel pain. What a totally unfair advantage.

I guess, to summarize, take some time to understand yourself, look inside for a while. You’ll find it very useful, I think.

Also, hug your dad and tell him you love him. Peace and luck

Life is not anime. Most mainstream anime paints a beautiful picture of a main character having larger-than-life dreams, and achieving them with nothing more than a big heart and “the power of friendship”. That’s not how life works. You don’t just do great things that effortlessly. Naruto and Luffy kick ass in their movies because the directors want them to. I’m sure they would suck if they were thrown into the real world and forced to “make it”.

Following anime’s example is bad because you will also be stuck with “fate”. Why is there only one “main character”? Why does only Naruto reach the top? Why can’t Sakura and Sasuke shine no matter how hard they try? What about other side characters like Lee? You can see that the anime can lead you into thinking you have to be “chosen”, or else you are worthless. Again, that’s not how life work.

Take out a paper and list everything you like to do. Then think of how they can be of help to others. That will be the starting point of your real life goal. After that, figure out how you can be better at your goal everyday. If it’s playing an instrument, spend 5 minutes a day practicing. If it’s learning a new language, learn 5 new words a day, and so on.

You already said the anime characters have goals and dreams. So go find yours.

Sometimes our parents push there children out into a world that is defined by their choices and not yours.
A passion is not born it develops as one grows in experiencing the world around them and if that world that they are living in is choking you then leave and travel around the world, taking jobs in between as many traveler’s do and in time you will discover and choose your own path other than what was carved out for you.
Sometimes things paid for do not always work out to what you really want in life. Its your life and choice to search outside of your boxed in life career.
